Tuneup tune up often
turnaround is a melodic passage at the end of a section which leads to the next section. This next section is most often the repetition of the previous section or the entire song.

The Turnaround lets the listener know that the section has ended (a sense of closure) and creates a sense of anticipation for the next section.

The only limit to the number of  Turnarounds is your creativity, the only criteria being that it fits within the timing and melodically leads to the beginning of the section.

Following are some examples of turnarounds beginning with a very basic one:

Video 1. Example of a Basic Turnaround.

Video 2. Example of a more complex Turnaround using a 12 Bar, E-A-B7 Chord Progression.

Note:The Turnaround happens on the 12th Bar.
